President Alan Weinschel will welcome all our attendees and present a brief LHSA update.

8:45-9:45 AM Attendee Introductions

To break the ice and meet your fellow Leica enthusiasts, members will be asked to share a little about themselves and show one or two images of their choice in a slide show.

9:45 AM-12:00 PM Friday Shooting Assignment

Our workshop leader, David Spielman will give a short tutorial on creating great images and give you a shooting assignment as you go out and explore the downtown area of Colorado Springs.                            

1200-100 PM Lunch on your own

2:15-7:00 PM             Photo Excursion – Garden of the Gods

Buses will pick us up at 2:15 at the hotel and take us to the beautiful Garden of the Gods. You will have the opportunity to roam the park at your leisure and make great landscape images. We’ll be there for the Golden Hour!

Saturday, May 16

9:00 AM -12:30 PM Pikes Peak Excursion                      

Spring Shoot Attendees will travel by bus to the summit of Pikes Peak (weather permitting). We will have the luxury of making a few stops along our ascent with the informative commentary of a private tour guide. At the summit, you will have approximately 30-45 minutes to explore before beginning the trip back to the hotel.

12:30-1:30 PM Lunch on your own                                  

1:30-3:00 PM Editing and Curating – Group Session

Bring your laptop, iPad, or editing device of choice.

3:00-5:00 PM Presentation and Discussion of presented images. 

Each member can submit up to 5 images for evaluation and commentary. For purposes of the slide show during the banquet, choices will be narrowed down to 2.

6:30 PM                       Cocktails  (must be pre-registered)

7:00 PM                        Dinner  (must be pre-registered – $75)   

The dress for the banquet is casual to smart casual. Be comfortable. The evening will feature a slide show of Colorado Spring Shoot Member photographs while you eat. We will hear from photographer Anja Bruehling in a discussion of photography and her work.
