DESCRIPTION

Join Arthur Meyerson for a compelling workshop weekend in Miami. Designed to heighten your awareness of color and increase your ability to successfully capture distinctive moments with your camera.

The workshop begins on Friday with a review of each students images, followed by an introductory presentation by Arthur illustrating concepts, ideas and visual tools utilized in capturing color moments.

Saturday, we will put classroom techniques into practice, during morning and afternoon shooting sessions. Arthur will provide assignments designed to sensitize you to light, color, and composition.

Sunday will include individual and group critiques of the work from Friday and Saturday. The final lecture will address utilizing the color moment in the creation of photo projects and books.

In the end, you will depart your weekend with Arthur with a greater appreciation for color, a stronger awareness of your own personal vision, and an enhanced sensitivity to capturing “decisive moments” in color.

SUNDAY
10:00am – 1:00pm  Image Processing. Final 4 One on One with Arthur.
1:00pm – 2:00pm – Lunch Provided
2:00pm – 5:00pm – Review, Lecture on projects, Book publishing and final Notes.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Amateurs and professionals alike will gain much from this program.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
Using a Leica camera is not required. You should have basic understanding of camera controls and digital workflow.

Enrollment for this Master Class is limited to 12 participants.

Gallery Show:
 This workshop is scheduled to coincide with an exhibition at the Leica Store in Miami. The official opening will be December 4th, 2019.

INSTRUCTOR

Arthur Meyerson  is recognized as one of America’s finest color photographers.

Over the years, this native Texan has traveled throughout the world creating award winning advertising, corporate and editorial photographs, as well as an extensive body of fine art imagery.

Adweek magazine named him Southwest Photographer of the Year on three separate occasions and American Photo has selected him as one of the top photographers in advertising.

His awards are numerous, including gold medals from the New York Art
Directors Club, the Art Directors Club of Houston, the Dallas Society of Visual Communications and the prestigious Stephen Kelly Award for his work on the Nike advertising campaign. He was selected by Nikon to their illustrious Legends Behind the Lens list and honored by the Houston Advertising Federation as the inaugural recipient of the Only In Houston award for individuals “whose creativity and passion for his art have brought recognition to the city of Houston”.

In 2008, the Houston Decorative Center named him as the first recipient of photography in their annual Stars Of Design celebration.

Besides his commercial work, Arthur’s fascination with light, color and the moment continues and has culminated into an impressive body of personal work as well. His photographs are included in many public and private collections and have been exhibited internationally.

He has been profiled in many publications including Communication Arts, Rangefinder, Camera Arts, Graphis, Digital Photo Pro, Zoom (France), Portfolio, Idea (Japan), Novum (Germany), Photoworld (China), and Fotodigital (Portugal).

A photographer with a strong commitment to his profession, Arthur teaches photography workshops and participates in speaking engagements throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is a member of the Advisory Council
for the Santa Fe Center for Photography as well as serving on the Board of Advisors for the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops and the Houston Center for Photography.

In 2012, he published his highly acclaimed book, The Color of Light, a collection of some of his personal color images from the past four decades and his latest book, The Journey, tracing his photographic life, was released in 2017.
