Join Leica Society International for an educational webinar with Nick Rains from Leica Camera Australia, hosted by LSI member Martin Eickelschulte.

Two live sessions with the same content will be available - one designed for US members and one for EU members. Both sessions will be live during daylight hours in Australia / Asia.

Session One: Wednesday, July 15, 2026 - 10am Central European Time (7pm Eastern Australian Time / 4am US Eastern Time)

Session Two: Tuesday, July 21, 2026 - 5pm US Eastern Time (11pm Central European Time / 7am Eastern Australian Time (+1 day))

These sessions will run approximately 90 minutes and start with a discussion about cameras, settings, lenses, and some tips for how to take a good monochrom photo. Next, Nick will dive into Lightroom with tips for how to shape a boring “grey-on-grey” photograph into a contrasty, visually-striking masterpiece. We will finish with some time for Q&A with Nick, so be prepared with some questions to ask.

About Nick Rains

Nick Rains is a professional photographer specialising in travel and documentary work. His photographs have been featured in publications such as Australian Geographic, Australian Photography Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Australian Geographic, Reader’s Digest and more. He has photographed a range of subjects, including sport, news, celebrities, industry, travel, fashion and portraits, as well as worked for commercial clients such as Shell, BBC, Orion, Ponant and the Australian Government.

He is a Master Photographer of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, the Leica Akademie Principal Instructor and helps ‘committed enthusiasts’ take the photos they have been dreaming of in workshops held in far-flung locations around the world.
